Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve UnitLync.
- Landlords: Name, email address, and property addresses (and related details you enter for your units).
- Tenants: Name, email address, and unit details as provided by you or them for the management of the tenancy.
- Account & usage: Login credentials (handled via secure authentication), and basic usage data to run the service and fix issues.
How We Use Data
Your data is used strictly for:
- Authentication — so you can sign in and access your account securely.
- Providing the service — to manage properties, tenants, messages, maintenance, and documents.
- Communication — between you and your tenants (and workers) within the platform, and for service-related emails (e.g. password reset, important notices).
We do not sell your data or tenant data to third parties for marketing or advertising.
Data Storage
Documents such as leases and receipts are stored in secure, encrypted cloud storage (e.g. Firebase). Access is restricted and data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not use your documents for any purpose other than providing the service you request.
Your Rights
In line with current standards, you have the right to:
- Export — request a copy of your personal data in a portable format.
- Deletion (Right to be Forgotten) — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
- Opt-out of non-essential communications — unsubscribe from marketing or non-critical emails while still receiving essential service messages.
